Erick Fineberg - Principal

I’m excited to begin my first year as Principal of Hillview High School and to join a community dedicated to student growth, opportunity, and success. With more than 20 years in public education, I’ve had the privilege of serving as a principal at both elementary and secondary levels, including multiple Title I schools. My background includes leading school turnaround efforts, developing innovative instructional programs, and fostering inclusive, student-centered cultures.

Before coming to Hillview, I led a blended learning K-12 school, supported accreditation efforts, and helped schools break through performance plateaus. I was honored to be named ACSA’s State Alternative/Continuation Education Principal of the Year in 2021 and continue to be passionate about serving students who thrive in non-traditional settings.

Outside of school, I’m a proud husband and father to three amazing daughters. I enjoy hiking, playing fantasy football, spending time with family and friends, and visiting Major League Baseball stadiums, I’ve been to all 30!

 

Katherinne Valdovinos - Principal's Secretary

My name is Katherinne Valdovinos A.K.A Mrs. Kathy! I’ve been working for the Tustin school district since 2015, but have been working with children since 2008. I received my ROP certificate in Early Childhood Education and began to work in the Yuba City Unified School District in Northern California as a teacher in the After-School Program. I then became the Attendance Clerk for two years at an elementary school before moving to Orange County. I started as a part-time interpreter for Tustin Unified District and then became the Community Liaison for Hillview High School and am now the Principal's Secretary here at Hillview High. I plan to attend Santa Ana College in the fall and transfer to a university to graduate with a degree in Family and Consumer Sciences.
